Dear School 2 Staff and Families:
Monday, October 15 is White Cane Day. This is a day of national observance that celebrates the achievements of those who are blind or visually impaired. Here at School 2, we have a wonderful young lady in sixth grade, Alexa Ovalle, who is visually impaired. She has brought this day of recognition to my attention. I think this day is a great opportunity for our family here at School 2 to join her and other visually impaired students in celebrating their accomplishments. Alexa spoke to our students today on the morning announcements and will do so again tomorrow.
I would ask that we all wear white on Monday to mark White Cane Day!
Thanks and have a great evening.
